  • Ability to use crayons and scissors
  • Able to listen attentively for periods of 15 minutes
  • One year of Preschool experience recommended

Class Description:
Our Kindergarten curriculum is structured to provide our students with the optimum amount of readiness skill and to prepare them for the academic standards and requirements upon entry into First Grade, all in a caring and structured environment.
   
Teaching Format & Topics
Math:
Children will develop a foundation of skills relating to basic shapes, number concepts, use of manipulative's, and simple addition and subtraction equations. They will also explore how math is used in our day-to-day life.
Language &
Reading Readiness:
Recognition of alphabet by name and sound, phonic exercises, rhyming, recognition of numerous sight words, and stories to reiterate phonemic awareness.
Science:
The use of individual units helps to emphasize scientific exploration into their world and the world around them. Arranged field trips highlight certain units (beach, fight museum, etc.)
Religion:
Chapel time in class and as a school, Bible stories from both Old and New Testaments, Christian songs, prayers and devotions aid in creating a positive Christian atmosphere.
Art & Music:
A variety of art projects are presented as opportunities for self-expression and to demonstrate ability to follow directions in addition to reiterating important concepts they are lear ning.
